FINLAND`S DHQ & DHK HISTORY:
Finland`s first official Dancehall Queen 2009 was CHENILL and she represented Finland in Italy and took the second place at the European championships!

2010 the winner was the multitalented ESKI-MA & the first ever dancehall king to be chosen in Finland was: YAZU.

2011 the Queens crown was taken by X-telle and Finland`s second ever King crown went to Amin! Big up for all Finland`s DHQ & DHK winners since 2009.

RULES OF THE CONTEST:

Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Entrants can be of any nationality, as long as the Queen winners represent Finland in all contests and showcases until the next crowning of a new Dancehall Queen and the Kings represent Scandinavia.

Judges will be looking for dancers maintaining the character of Dancehall Reggae both from its roots and as it is danced today in clubs around the world.

Tricks and over-choreographed routines will not guarantee a win.

The judges will score each dancer using a points system out of 10.

They will look for the following attributes:- Timing and ability to stay on the beat- Ability to express the music through dance- Fluidity- Outfits/appearance- Creativity of moves- Technique- Choreography

The competition will be in Dancehall Reggae Dancing and is only open singles, not couples or teams.

Dancehall is danced in many styles in different countries.

Competitors will be judged fairly and impartially without favouritism towards any particular beat, style, or region.

Stylish, ornate costumes are encouraged. It is expected that all competitors will act professionally, ethically and sportsmanlike at all times prior, during and after the competition.

Entrants will only be allowed to start over if there has been a technical problem that is out of competitor’s control.

Should any issues arise, please direct queries to organisers NOT judges.

Dance presentations must be of a tasteful nature and must not be associated or depict racist, pornographic, sexist or violent content.

Round One: Presentation / no elimintation

The presenter will introduce both dancers and judges.Dancers will dance alone their own music on the stage.THE LENGHT’S MIX MUST BE 1min30!The mix must be put on a CD only.

Round Two: Elimination Round ->

Dancers will dance alone for 60 sec how they like BUT on music chosen by thedj, Judges vote.

Round Three: Elimination round

Dancers will dance alone for 60 sec how they like BUT on music chosen by thedj,Judges vote.Elimination

Round Four: (1min30)The music is always chosen by the dj.No elimination

Round five: same dancing tune (1min30)The music is always chosen by the dj. Judges vote.

In case of an equal number of votes, judges chose the winner basing on wich dancer knows the newest dances best

Club Venuen ovet avautuvat klo 21.00 ja kisat alkavat jo klo 22.00. Kisojen järjestäjäorganisaatio: Club Sauna Calienten puolesta Satu Leygonier kehoittaa yleisöä ostamaan ennakkoliput Tiketistä, sillä edellisissä kisoissa suosio oli niin valtava, että Helsinki Clubin ulkopuolella odotettiin parhaillaan yli 2 tuntia jonossa sisäänpääsyä. Tapahtumaan lippu maksaa Tiketistä ostettuna 13€ + palvelumaksu ja ovelta 14€ mikäli lippuja riittää. Ennakkolipuilla pääsee myös jonon ohi.
